The  ULTRA B10  provides a distributed low voltage Test System with comprehensive measurement facilities.  The system is designed for testing and fault diagnosis of complex Backplane or long Cable Harness assemblies.

Each  intelligent module plugs directly into the unit under test, each connected by a simple 14 way ribbon. Therefore eliminating long large fixture cables that are easily prone to damage. Each module also has a built in test feature on power up, so there is never any problem with a fixture wiring fault showing a wrong diagnosis. The system is capable of checking passive and active components on a backplane as well as very long cable forms and sub-assemblies. The modules are daisy-chained together and can be spread over long distances. Various adaptors are available for any type of connector. Test programs can be created in minutes by converting CAD data, or by using the system's built-in self-learn capability.

One innovative application sold was for building wiring looms for vehicles.  One B10 system was used to interface to two wiring looms boards. Each loom board was about 20ft long and the intelligent switch cards where spread evenly across this area. One loom was built on one board while the other loom was tested on the other board. The process was then reversed. The same program was used to test both boards with the virtual channels mapped to the actual locations at the start of each run. The company setup four of these system configurations in one assembly room.
