Introduction The ULTRA CONNECT Series provides a streamlined range of modular High Voltage Interconnection Test Systems with comprehensive measurement facilities designed for ensuring the integrity of cable harnesses, electronic assemblies and numerous other applications. It has also the ability to perform MDA testing (Manufacturing Defect Analysis) on assembled PCB's making the Ultra one of the most versatile HV testers on the market. The systems are designed for testing and fault diagnosis of complex Backplane or Cable Harness assemblies where high voltage isolation and component verification are important. The standard model available is the ULTRA CONNECT PC1000. It is designed for applications requiring up to 1,000 VDC and. A 1500 volt model, the PC1500 is available by arrangement with the factory. This model can also perform up to 1000V AC RMS insulation tests. Basic System The standard ULTRA CONNECT PC1000 and PC1500 test systems are supplied in bench top cabinets complete with easy-to-use software, an interface card for installation in a user supplied PC and a 25 way high-speed interconnecting cable. The cabinet contains a 19 inch sub-rack with 14 slots for system resources. These include the Measurement Module, Power Supply Module and space for up to 12 standard size Relay Switching Modules. System Expansion For applications requiring a large number of test points, the system can be expanded into a larger cabinet to allow the fitting of additional expansion backplanes providing up to a maximum of 65,536 points. Each expansion backplane can be fitted with up to 16 standard size relay modules.
The picture shows a very large system installed at Marconi Hill End This system contained twenty four 64 channel 1000V Relay modules providing a total of 1536 channels. The customer particularly requested ZIF connectors on the front of the relay modules, so this card became a special for this system only. |
