Relay Modules

Single Pole 500V Relay Module

The 500 volt Single Pole Relay Module provides the capability to switch up to 128 test channels on to the drive,  sense and guard highways of the Ultra measurement system. It requires one slot position within the main system chassis.

The module has the additional optional capability of being switched to the Guard mode, whereby the internal Sense highway is routed to the system Guard highway. This allows accurate measurements of external components when they are situated within a circuit. The module can also be used as a general purpose relay switching matrix for routing instruments and performing functional tests.

Double Pole 1000V Relay Module

The 1000 volt Double Pole Relay Module provides the capability to switch up to 64 test channels on to the Kelvin drive,  sense and guard highways of the Ultra measurement system.  The module is designed specifically for switching medium to high voltages up to 1000V DC. It requires one slot position within the main system chassis.

For precision measurement, each channel is fully Kelvin with independent force and feedback connections through the matrix. The module can be set into Guard mode whereby the internal Sense highway is routed to the system active Guard highway. This allows accurate measurements of  component values in-circuit, in cable harness, circuit board or backplane assemblies. In addition to routing test connections to the measurement system, the module can also be used as a general purpose relay switching matrix for routing instruments and performing functional tests.

Double Pole 1000V Energisation Relay Module

The 1000 volt Double Pole Relay Energisation Module provides the capability to switch 32 channels on to the Kelvin drive,  sense and active guard highways of the Ultra measurement system. In addition, a single pole relay matrix is provided to enable 32 channels to be switched to an external power supply of up to 100V DC . It requires one slot position within the main system chassis.

The Energisation Module contains 32 channels to the drive and sense highways of the Kelvin connection measurement system, the active guard or to an external power supply of up to 100V. Unlike the single and double pole modules, there is no restriction on the combinations of test channels that may be switched to each highway. When using this module in conjunction with the Ultra’s ability to make multiple continuity tests in one program, an entire assembly can be tested under program control without the need for operator intervention. It us particular useful for energising external relays within a customers UUT, within the testing cycle.

The 200 volt General Purpose Relay Module provides forty independent change over relays. In addition, each relay can be switched to the standard Drive, Sense, Guard and Power Highways. The module also provides four independent floating power supplies. It requires one slot position within the main system chassis.

The module is partioned into four groups Each group consists of 10 independent single pole change over relays that are directly connected to the standard output 37 way ‘D’ type. These can all be programmed independently and can be used for any number of general purpose switching applications. In addition the common of each single pole relay can be switched to one of the main system highways. Two are connected to the Sense Highway, two are connected to the Guard Highway, two are connected to the Power Highway and the remaining four are connected to the Drive Highway.

Each group also contains a floating low power voltage source that can be used to energise UUT relays and circuitry. Two groups output 24 volts, one group outputs 12 volts and the remaining group outputs 5 volts.

Therefore in addition to general purpose switching, the module can be used to energise UUT relays, take external voltage measurements, perform guarded resistance measurements and route external power to various sources.
